Watch polishing & refinishing

As a full-service independent watch dealer, we handle our own servicing, repairs, refinishing and authentication in-house, and offer the same care for your own watch.

What’s involved

Polishing that goes the extra mile

Polishing can be done quickly or cheaply, but in our view that usually means a sub-standard job: softened edges, rounded bevels and lost brushed finishes. Ours goes the extra mile. The movement is taken out of the case and cleaned along with the other parts, and the gaskets and seals are checked, so every surface can be brought back as close to its factory finish as possible.

Deeper marks can be rebuilt by laser welding in the watch’s own metal, and flat surfaces and brushed finishes restored on our brand-accredited lapping and belt machines.

  • Movement removed and cleaned first
  • Gaskets and seals checked
  • As close to factory finish as possible

WOHS Atelier Certification

What Atelier Certified means

Every watch we sell is Atelier Certified. It’s our promise that the watch has been through our Birmingham atelier, in four stages, before it is listed for sale.

  1. AuthenticatedChecked by our watchmakers and against The Watch Register, the world’s largest database of lost and stolen watches.
  2. ServicedInspected and serviced in-house by our own watchmakers, and polished only where needed.
  3. Pressure testedTested wet and dry to the watch’s rated depth, which is why every watch we sell comes with our waterproof guarantee.
  4. Graded and photographedGraded by hand, part by part, in an honest condition report, and shown in unedited photos.

Only then is it listed, with our Atelier Certified stamp and 3-year warranty.

Atelier Certification is for the watches we sell. When you book your own watch in, it’s looked after by the same watchmakers, with the same care.
